The University for Foreigners of Siena and the CLUSS Centre, in collaboration with the PhD programme in Historical Linguistics, Educational Linguistics and Italian Studies, will host the VII International Summer School Language Policy and Language Planning “Bilingual minds and translingual practices in multicultural contexts” from July 8 to 11, 2025. The themes of this year’s Summer School will be:
- Bilingualism between family and educational language policies.
- Translingual practices in migratory, school, and academic contexts.
- Biliteracy and writing practices: development, challenges, and research methodologies.
- Language policy design and implementation.
Methodological tools for quantitative-qualitative research in linguistic, language education, sociolinguistic, and ethnographic fields will be provided. Additionally, interested participants (Ph.D. students, postdoctoral fellows, researchers) will have the opportunity to present their research, discuss collected data, and explore strategies of analysis in thematic workshops with experts in the field and peers. Although presenting one’s research is not mandatory to participate in the Summer School, it is strongly encouraged and can be indicated in the registration form.

The Summer School is open to master’s degree students, graduates, Ph.D. students, researchers, and educators interested in the above-discussed disciplines and themes.
